Ok, after searching searching for some information related to my topic, I think I found some sites. My topic is "can one communicate with the dead." I thought it would be interesting to write about, but I have found it very hard to find research on. After searching the net here's some sites I came up with.

This site was interesting. It told different ways to communicate with the dead in a step by step process. Although I really don't think just any random person could read and follow the steps to communicate with the dead. It also, told about the many ways that the dead try to communicate with us as well. I found it helpful. I will probably use this one for my paper.

This site was helpful as well. It was basically an article that tried to answer the question "Can the deceased communicate with us while we dream?" She talks about her own experiences as well as her research. It was interesting to read about her experiences.

This was, I believe, part one of the above article by Sue Darroch. She talks about the different ways you can try to communicate with the dead. For instance, Ouija Angel/Demon Boards, Seances, Automatic writing and Channeling, and props. She discusses each one, then asks the question, "do these methods really work". She also talks about her own experience.

This was an article written about a lady that was going through a divorce and felt a presence among her who she later identifies as Ginny Lee. This lady had passes away a few years earlier. She says, this spirit helped her through this difficult time and also guided her to the Church where she met her current husband. This was very interesting.

I visited this site to find a schedule of the show Haunting Evidence. There is an episode on October 11 at 10p about Madeleine McCann. I think I will watch it and see if there is anything pertaining to my topic.

Blog Assignment 6

My topic is Can you communicate with the dead. I was watching TV this weekend and saw a commercial for a TV show that will be on this week on TRU TV. It look like it would be interesting, it showed previews of people trying to hunt ghosts and communicating with them. believe I will watch it. It may help me with my paper. I also, have already started looking on the Internet for articles relating to my topic so I'm sure I will use the Internet as well.

I think checking out some books from the library may be useful as well. I was searching the Internet and found an article on the book by "They Psychic in You: Understand and Harness your Natural Psychic Power" by Jeffery Wands and Tom Philbin. I think this book might be of interest to me. I will also us the online sources, like the virtual library to research my paper. I have used these before but it has been a very long time, so the links on our assignment tab was very useful.

Assignment #5

Persuasive Writing.

Persuasive writing is used to address topics that can be controversial or bring on discussions because of their complexity. You must always first consider you own opinions when beginning to write a persuasive essay. It is always best to decide on a topic first and then ask yourself how you fee about the topic. Decide if you feel strongly and if you would want to learn more about the topic. Then you must decide weather or not you agree or disagree with the topic.

It is best to stay away from topics that center around Religion because they are difficult to argue. Also, indisputable facts and preferences are hard topics to argue so you should avoid them.

Next you need to develop your thesis. Find evidence that supports your topic. This evidence will be stated in your thesis are argued in the same order in your essay.

Using persuasive techniques such as logos, ethos, and pathos will help with being convincing in your essay. Also, I need to make sure I look at alternative perspectives. I should think about what others believe and focus on the most common arguments.

I think I will like writing this essay much more than the last since I will be able to use my opinion and own thoughts for the paper.

Blog Assignment 4

I revised my essay this week. Most importantly I tried to make my paragraphs flow together better. I also added some more to my introduction and conclusion. I found some grammar mistakes and fixed them also. I hope I caught them all.

I changed some of my wording. After reading it, I noticed that I was using the same words over and over. I also moved some sentences around and changed the paragraphs. I found that some of my sentences really should have been in other paragraphs, so I moved them. I added some more detail to my paper also.

It's been so long since I've been in school. I had forgotten how much time it takes to write a paper. Next time, I think I will use index cards to help me put my thoughts together before I start writing/typing.

Revising my paper on Nostradamus

Before I submit my essay, I will work on making my paragraphs flow better. I think that is the most important thing I need to work on in my essay. The feedback I got was great. I will also check for typo’s and make sure my work cited page it correct. I will also add more detail in my conclusion.

I found this site to be very interesting. It told about Nostradamus's predictions and prophecies. This site raised questions about if he really predicted the JFK assassination and Hitler. It also talked about him being "demon possessed". I think this site will be use full.

Blog Assignment - The Paranormal

I believe reading and writing about the paranormal will be exciting. I love to watch shows on ghosts, haunted houses, and psychics. This theme is a very interesting twist to an English class, especially since, honestly I really don't like to read that much. It will be great to read about something as interesting as the paranormal! I'm sure it will really grab my attention!

I believe in some areas of the paranormal and some I'm not so sure about, for example UFOs and aliens, if there was really life on another planet why haven't they found us yet, or have they? I anticipate learning more about reincarnation and astrology. I always thought the term "Paranormal" only referred to ghosts, until I read the documentation for this assignment. I believe that there are ghosts and haunted houses. I also, believe there are some people out there that are psychic and can tell you what is about happen. I think there are angels among us as well. I'm very excited to read and write about this topic.

I look forward to writing about the paranormal, especially live after death and near death experience. There are so many subjects you could write about under this topic. It will be very exciting.
